i believe expressing yourself through poetry is fantastic.
the more confusing you make it, the more intelligent people you’ll come across.
yes, i do the same thing; but i tend to also put my thoughts to my stories as well as my poems.
how many poems? in the past i’ve written about 30 poems in a day.
it was a long day. haha.

Expressing yourself through poetry is good. It's kinda like taking a photo of a moment in time except is recording emotions and feelings that serve as memories of how you felt at the time the poem was written. When you look at a photo, you are reminded of an experience. When you read a poem, you are reminded of an experience. The difference is, that when other people read your poetry, it may trigger a different emotion from your own.

Writing about foreign countries you have visited, in such a way as to make the reader understand new things about those countries, so he or she can decide whether he/she would enjoy travelling there.

I write about things I have feelings about like my buddy, Teddy:

My Buddy Teddy, we were a team
We toured our own little world, we were in a dream
He was my faithful buddy constantly at my side
With him I was in a state of constant pride
He even protected me from harm’s way,
He even saved my life I say it to this day
And now as I think back to that distant time,
and I was mean to him time after time
And even when to my buddy I was mean
He remained my faithful buddy and we were still a team
In case you didn’t know,
Teddy was a dog I had long ago
Our old trails are covered now and long forgotten
But this I sincerely insist, Teddy was my
buddy and will never be forgotten

Pardon me for answering your question somewhat indirectly. It sounds like what you’re looking for is a way to figure out what work will make you happy by asking a few folks online. A better way might be to take a test that’s been given to lots of other people and comparing the answers. Such a test has been developed (actually, there are several), the Strong Interest Inventory. Many college’s offer this to their students at a discount, it’s also available online:

I think that poetry (any form of writing, for that matter) is an excellent way to vent out strong emotions. It's a picture of every human feeling experienced, and it lets anger or depression melt away. I write if I'm upset. It helps. XD
